Read about Amanda Gorman
Amanda Gorman, the poet who won over the nation in 2021 with her "The Hill We Climb" during President Joe Biden's inauguration, made a comeback onto the political stage in a big way Wednesday. She read a new poem, "This Sacred Scene," at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
Gorman moved to the stage in front of a mesmerized audience, dressed in a flowing pale blue dress, her braided hair styled in an up-do. Her speech was succinct, but it drove home the message he wanted relating to unity and compassion in the quest to have the "American Dream." "Perhaps the American Dream is no dream at all, but rather a dare to dream together. A people who cannot stand together cannot stand at all."
